Keena Lea Bonella (born June 4, 1985) is a beauty queen from Grand Junction, Colorado who competed in the Miss USA pageant in 2007.
Bonella won the Miss Colorado USA title in a state pageant held in Loveland on 24 September 2006. This was her fourth attempt at the title as she had placed fourth runner-up to Jacqueline Madera in 2006. Her "sister" titleholder is Hilary Cruz of Louisville, Miss Colorado Teen USA 2007.
Bonella represented Colorado in the Miss USA 2007 pageant held in the spring of 2007 in the Kodak Theater. She is the first Colorado titleholder since the pageant was taken over by the Future Productions group and was the first Miss Colorado from the Western Slope.
Bonella graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 2003, she later studied as a marketing major at The Art Institute in Denver and graduated in 2008. She is the second oldest of six siblings.[1]
As part of her work as Miss Colorado USA, Bonella joined forces with the Marines and the Drug Enforcement Agency in November 2006 to promote an awareness of the many dangers of illegal drug use in America.[2]
Bonella's volunteer work has expanded across many states. In 2005 she helped to create 4 volunteer programs throughout Hospice and Palliative Care, one of which allowed under privileged teens to wear a dress to prom in which they would have never been able to afford.
Bonella competed in the Miss Earth United States 2008 pageant where she placed 1st runner up and was awarded the title Miss Safari United States. This title enabled her to travel to Kenya, Africa where she would be competing in the Miss Safari pageant.[3]
